Did You Know? #5 How Pressure Transducers Work

training did you know dyk transducer Published on 2020-05-19

A pressure transducer is often called a pressure transmitter, which is used to measure refrigerant pressure during cooler or freezer operation. Heatcraft equipment applies a 3-wire captive pressure transducer. It means that as pressure acts upon a flexible diaphragm, the capacitive value changes. This result improves the voltage output measured by the pressure sensing circuit on the unit's control board. Heatcraft equipment sensors operate on a range of voltage values between 0.5 VDC and 4.5 VDC. The circuit board's processor, scales and translates voltage value to pressure value. This is the key elements in monitoring and maintaining system superheat which is critical to proper cooler or freezer operation
